In conversation with Tourism Minister Of India

Last week, I was a part of a closed-door discussion with Tourism Minister KJ Alphons on the country’s tourism prospects. The event was organised by the tourism ministry at the ministry headquarter.

“India has great prospects in the field of tourism as it holds immense potential to generate new jobs and earn foreign currency. But barring few locations, most of the potential tourism destinations have been remained ignored. In the last few years, we have started a lot of initiative to tap this low hanging fruits”, Shri KJ Alphons said.

He also shared his thought on the different tourism circuits like Rama circuits, Buddha circuits etc.

I made two suggestion when I got the chance to share my idea on how to enhance the tourism potential of the country, which includes-

1. Incredible India Accessible India – The tourism places should be made accessible to Divyang people and elderly people who are largely absent from the tourist places because of the accessibility issue.

2. Digital tourism- The virtual tour, 360-degree video and integrating all the aspects of tourism like tour package, guide, booking etc under one platform will increase Ease of travelling.

The discussion followed by lunch and photo-session.
